When Lathy's daughter Maliea needed unexpected treatment, she found affordable care and emotional support through Doctors Care.
Located in Littleton, Doctors Care is a nonprofit that has helped underserved children, adults and families access the medical attention they need since 1988.
In the latest Colorado Kaleidoscope video submission, Lathy sometimes tearfully recounts her experience at the clinic.
"They not only took care of her, they took care of me," Lathy said. "... It was like having my Mom there."
Lathy's story and more than 20 others are featured on Colorado Kaleidoscope, a gallery of stories about the Colorado Health Foundation's grantees and the lives they impact.
Colorado Kaleidoscope is designed to shed a bright light on the work of the Foundation's grantees and the people whose lives they impact.
Foundation grantees who are interested in submitting content to the Colorado Kaleidoscope can learn more through an online training video. Grantees will receive a $5,000 unrestricted donation for video work and $1,000 for published narratives and accompanying photos.
